WWII M2 551st PIB CAMO HELMET (SOUTHERN FRANCE) OPERTAION DRAGOON, Summer of 1944.
HELMET: WWII Front Seam D-bale shell. M2 chinstraps with early war cast buckle. The Camo pattern was hand painted & aged to look like a "Combat Worn" helmet. Steel pot is in good but used condition. Heat stamp is: 504B
The 551st as well 509th PIB were firm believers in Camouflage & used it on everything and the patterns for their helmets varied from unit to unit.
***The D-bales are properly spot welded and made from Raw Steel which is accurate for WWII***
LINER: This is a post-war FIRESTONE liner & has been restored as an "Inland Style "Airborne model. HBT webbing, Steel A-washers & Nape strap. The A-yokes w/wire buckles, sweatband, liner chinstrap & leather chincup are highly detailed/aged repro's. The 2" netting is included! The liners outer OD paint is original, untouched by Me.
